For more than 15 years Steve has acted as legal counsel providing workers’ compensation – workplace safety and insurance law advice to unionized and non-unionized businesses operating in diverse industries ranging in size from small locally-owned firms to some of Canada’s largest and most recognizable corporations. Steve’s legal practice spans the country serving as employer advocate at board-commission-tribunal appeal hearings in all nine common law provincial workers’ compensation jurisdictions. In addition as Compcore co-founder and President Steve is responsible for company operations, strategic marketing and client development.

Steve has a B.A. (Hons.) and a Master Degree in Public Administration, both from the University of Manitoba, and an LL.B. – J.D. from Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law. He was called to the bar in Nova Scotia in 1999 and is licensed to practice law in Ontario.

In 2017 Steve was honored to receive Law Society of Upper Canada certification as a Specialist in Workplace Safety and Insurance Law. He is one of only 13 lawyers among Ontario’s bar of approximately 50,000 licensees to hold this distinguished status.

With more than 10 years experience practicing law Cynthia serves Canada’s business community providing workers’ compensation – workplace safety and insurance law advice, disability claims management assistance / training and appeal representation at board-commission-tribunal appeal hearings across the country. In addition as Compcore co-founder and Vice-President she is responsible for managing the firm’s office and business operations.

Away from the office Cynthia is active in her local community volunteering as Hot Lunch Program Team Leader at her childrens’ school; acting as an Organizer in a project that clothes disadvantaged children; participating on an elementary school Parent Advisory Council; and serving as CWL Co-President and member of both the Social Justice and Discipleship Awards committees in her parish.

Cynthia is a former WCB Nova Scotia Claims Adjudicator and Hearing Officer. She holds a B.A. degree from Dalhousie University and an LL.B. – J.D. from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law. Cynthia was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2000 and is licensed to practice law in Ontario.
